About Lost Stock

Lost Stock is an impactful retail business, set up in the wake of COVID-19 and using a fashion box model to connect consumers with the billions of pounds worth of cancelled stock orders, while supporting garment workers and their families. Set up by the team behind clothes shopping app Mallzee, every parcel sold feeds a family for a week and prevents brand new clothing potentially ending up in landfill.

It was when reading articles about the billions of pounds worth of stock orders that were being cancelled by retailers and seeing quotes like the one above that prompted us to consider what we could do to help. As part of the fashion industry we couldn’t stand by and watch those within our industry suffer. 

This is catastrophic for workers on the ground in developing countries. They're being left with no income, and there's no safety net in place for them. We're used to solving big problems, and we're experts in personalisation which makes us uniquely positioned to do something about this awful situation. That's why we came up with the idea for Lost Stock. 

Having spent six years building the Mallzee shopping app we understand consumers and we had the industry contacts to be in the perfect position to connect consumers with the cancelled stock supporting garment workers and helping avoid the clothes ending up in landfill.

The concept is simple. We use our data wrangling powers, our logistics partners and our network of awesome influencers to create Lost Stock. We match up clothes that retailers are no longer taking with consumers who are looking for a great deal but also want to do something positive to help factory workers and avoid clothes going to landfill.

It's been a big undertaking, but it's a cause we're passionate about.

Lost Stock is brought to you from the team at Mallzee, the UK's leading multi-retailer shopping app based in Edinburgh, Scotland. 

Founded in 2013, we're the original 'Tinder for fashion'. Our free shopping app has over 180 high street brands and popular retailers has been downloaded over 1.5 million times. We've raised over £5 million to date, and our CEO Cally Russell once featured on Dragon's Den (he turned down the dragons...)

We're a friendly bunch - a mix of developers, retail specialists and data scientists and we work directly with high street retailers to help them chose the best products to make. We also help thousands of consumers a month find the perfect fashion deals.
